Project Description
In densely populated communities like New York and New Jersey, we fight and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts and advocate for common-sense conservation and management policies that protect species spanning Canada geese, raptors, and song birds.
In 2016, Urban Bird Foundation expanded into the Northeast to help tackle and end the practice of killing Canada geese to control their flocks in New York and New Jersey – often contracting with United States Department of Agriculture to kill Canada geese labeled as “nuisance” birds. In addition to advocating for non-lethal solutions, we also work to reduce the use of rodenticides that can result in secondary poisonings in raptors like owls and hawks.
