Scott Artis, Executive Director of Urban Bird Foundation, has been appointed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to serve on the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council for a three-year term.

RARE BERKELEY MARINA BURROWING OWL FOUND DEAD AT CESAR CHAVEZ PARK
Urban Bird Foundation received a report late Thursday night of a dead burrowing owl at the Berkeley Marina. The raptor, found earlier in the day, had been placed on a park bench and could be seen with puncture wounds on its body.

VICTORY FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BURROWING OWLS: 895-HOME BANNING RANCH DEVELOPMENT DENIED BY CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION VOTE
Urban Bird Foundation in coordination with leading organizations Sierra Club Angeles Chapter and Banning Ranch Conservancy successfully prevented the loss of burrowing owl wintering and foraging habitat in the Banning Ranch area of Newport Beach, California.
