Crypto Donation Program to Save Imperiled Burrowing Owls

Donors can support bird conservation ahead of Black Friday and #GivingTuesday with a crypto donation of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Tether, XRP, Polkadot, Solana, Cardano, and other cryptocurrencies

AMERICAN CANYON, California–Urban Bird Foundation will now be able to directly receive donations of cryptocurrencies in a strategic move to drive support for declining Western and Florida burrowing owls. For the first time, supporters can donate Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Tether, XRP, Polkadot, Solana, Cardano, and other cryptocurrencies to help protect habitat, rescue injured birds, and conserve native birds, including burrowing owls, in urban and suburban communities across the United States.

“This is a new and exciting opportunity for Urban Bird Foundation,” said Scott Artis, Executive Director. “With a continued shift to and growing popularity of digital forms of currency, Urban Bird Foundation wants to enlist everyone in the fight to save unique species like burrowing owls. We need all hands on deck to engage and mobilize support to prevent the loss of these underground owls in our urban and suburban communities. If younger generations are increasingly incorporating crypto payments into their daily digital lives, then we also need to seamlessly weave cryptocurrency into our day-to-day giving options.”

With Black Friday, #GivingTuesday and end-of-year giving approaching, donors could see huge tax benefits by donating crypto directly to Urban Bird Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through urbanbird.org/donate-crypto/, donors can find Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and other popular cryptocurrency wallet addresses, scan a QR code or easily send a donation from a Coinbase Wallet to Urban Bird Foundation via their @urbanbird Coinbase Wallet username instead of using a full-length crypto address.

Urban Bird Foundation began accepting crypto donations to ensure growth and gains associated with blockchain benefit imperiled burrowing owls and other native birds. The program is part of strategic investment plan to boost critical program funding without the need for intermediaries.
